The purpose of the job progress monitoring activity is to check that suppliers are meeting and complying with the requirements specified in the customer's order, particularly as regards the delivery time, terms and conditions.

 

The aim of the activity is to examine in depth all the aspects of the supply, suggest any solutions that permit meeting the delivery time and, finally, promptly inform the customer of the real situation regarding the order progress.

 

It is the Expediter's responsibility to monitor the production process at the supplier's premises as well as the progress of the order by checking quality, compliance with requirements and the meeting of deadlines.

 

The Expediter thus ensures that the goods ordered are delivered within the established deadline, at the agreed address and that their quality is up to the standards set.It is clear that the success of a project depends on the careful planning of all these activities and on the consistent pursuit of the set goals in terms of time, costs and quality.
